PENDLETON, OR—Crow’s Shadow is excited to present an invitational group exhibition of works by artists who attend bi-annual monotype printmaking sessions in the studio. Returning highlights a selection of remarkable works made in the Crow’s Shadow studio outside of the artist residencies. These ten printmakers have been coming to the studio for about eight years; initially for more structured workshop retreats organized through the Pacific Northwest College of Art’s Community Education program, and more recently, through renting the studio as an independent collective. They have developed a wonderful rapport with one another as well as the studio. Converging for these intensely generative studio sessions has also enriched their individual art practices,providing lasting motivation as they return to their homes across Oregon and Washington. Viewed together, the prints in Returning share a deep connection through the place where they were made; with many of the artists drawing inspiration from the landscapes and colors of Eastern Oregon.
