Biography

Susan Sheoships, enrolled Cayuse-Walla Walla Indian, grew up on the Umatilla Indian Reservation and regularly attended the St. Andrew’s Mission, now home of Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts. Sheoships later attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, N.M., in 1969-70 and 1972-74, majoring in printmaking. She currently works as the Education Coordinator at Tamástslikt Cultural Institute, tribal museum of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, and has served as a board member and volunteer for several community arts organizations.
